Deutlich erkennbar ist ein osteuropäischer Einfluss mittels Melodien, für die Bassist Andrzej Krejmiuk nicht ganz unverantwortlich sein dürfte. Des weiteren nennt man den hier noch unbekannten Tartaren-Humppa als Vorbild und greift auch Traditionals aus der Sahel-Zone auf.

Die Musik startet zunächst Pop-lastiger (was auch an der veränderten Besetzung liegen könnte), wobei sie sich schnell wieder in angeschrägten Folk- und Jazzverästelungen verliert, die für erfrischende Irritationen sorgen. Leichtfüßiger und eingängiger als das Debüt wirkt »LEMON RIVER« daher nur zu Beginn; die Komplexität schimmert verborgen in der zweiten Reihe. Sie offenbart sich vor allem in instrumentalen Zwischenspielen, bei denen nicht selten das Harmonium in Minimal-artige Wiederholungen stolpert und einen ganz magischen Sog erzeugt. Und Ninas isländischer Akzent klingt im Englischen einfach noch putziger als bei Björk.

Ville Kangas' composed forthcoming summer 2007 album "Qwenland" uses fiddles and human voice as melody instruments and combines them with different drums, acoustic bass and keyboards.
