Melankolics started their journey over five years ago, and released their first full lenght album at the beginning of 2009. The bands pop-rock encapsulates something very familiar from the national finnish melancholy. Gloom or despair are anyhow not on the menu, there s no dwelling in sorrow as the band heads on to new adventures. Melancholy shows itself in the true sense of the word: a sweet sorrowfull emotion with a hint of joy in it.

Lyrically the vocalist/writer Jusna reflects his experiences and outlook on life. He s taken no easy ways out and the workman ethics really show in every line written. The traditional pop-lyrics have been taken to a new level and even the more used up themes have had new life blown in to them. When Jusna was asked about the meaning of the lyrics, he just states that the listeners will surely seek and find their own meanings to the texts.

The basic sound of the band is produced through the trio of bass-drums-guitar, but this time it s been taken a step further with the addition of a violin, which brings color and soul to the music. The violin is a definitive addition to the sound of Melankolics. And as the bands music pour out of the stereos like the crisp autumn leaves in September, even listeners who ve already grown weary of the pop-rock scene will be taken along for a ride of their lives.
