Veljeni Valas is a Finnish trio, which music combines freely ambient, jazz and ethnic influences. The band consists of the guitar (Juha-Pekka Linna), saxophone (Joonas Outakoski) and the drums and percussion (Pekka Saarikorpi).

Music is composed by the band itself. The floating, spontaneous and hypnotic music is mainly based on improvisation. The structures and melodies get their final shape as a result of the collective work process.

Helsinki-based combo was founded in 2001 and has made one album titled in accordance with the band (Veljeni Valas, 2003). Furthermore, the band recorded the music for Finnish photographer and video artist Maria Ylikoski’s video composition Displacements/Tuula (2006).
