Faroese choir music written by Kári Bæk The choral music on this CD has been written by Kári Bæk over the last 20 years. This album’s recordings are performed by the vocal ensembles Skýrák (conducted by K. Bæk) and Mpiri (G. Larsen) and the chamber choir Tarira (S. Rasmussen). The compositions span from traditional songs for four voices to meticulousy arranged works in a modern style. The music was written around poems by Faroese writers including William Heinesen, Christian Matras and Tummas N. Djurhuus as well as biblical texts in English and Latin.
