Travelling is a suite of nine episodes of a journey from the sea and land, through the air and back to the ocean. All episodes relate to travelling in mythical or shamanistic ways with conceptual and musical ideas from cultures far apart, but all related.

The nine tracks are UMIAQ, HORSE, SWAN, WIND, GOYAALÉ, RAVEN, FEATHER, TROUT and QAJAQ

 

On this recording bandleader Kristian Blak (piano) is joined by musicians from the Faroe Islands, Sweden, New Zealand and includes also a field recording of an East Greenlandic song: Anders Hagberg (flute, saxophone, percussion), Angelika Nielsen (violin), Richard Nunns (maori traditional instruments), Sharon Weiss (recorder), Heðin Ziska Davidsen, guitar, ukulele), Mikael Blak (bass), Ajukutooq (vocal (recording from 1906))
