Die Reise beginnt bei einem ruppigen, jazzrockigen Auftritt in Torshavn zum 25-Jährigen, um dann zu den eher spröden und zuweilen etwas gediegenen Kammermusik-Ausflügen Kristian Blaks zurückzu finden, denen er Mitte der Achtziger den Vorzug gab. Nicht fehlen dürfen Ausschnitte von seinen Höhlenkonzerten mit Unterstützung des Saxophonisten John Tchicai, wo er dem gelegentlich zu sentimentalen Flötenspiel Anders Hagbergs entgegentritt.

CD 2 versammelt bisher verstreutes Material, so etwa Vorspiel und Libretto zur Oper »Arnhild Og Eystein«, getragen von Eivor Pálsdóttir und dem Tarira-Chor. Oder zwei aufgefrischte Rock-Songs sowie als Höhepunkte zwei Suiten nach Texten des färöischen Nationaldichters William Heinesen, erneut mit Unterstützung der Sangeslegende Pálsdóttirs Unterstützung eingespielt – die nebenbei zeigt, dass sie auch vom Joiken inspiriert wurde. Der Rausschmeißer ist eine echte Kostbarkeit: ein quirliger Calypso, aufgenommen in Cuxhaven. (frk)
