Stanley Samuelsen - Folksinger from the Faeroe Islands
Stanley's career as a musician began in the early sixties playing lead guitar in the local rock n´ roll band. Later he moved to Denmark, playing in many bands throughout the seventies and eighties.
From the early nineties he has been established as a very popular and skilled acoustic guitarist and singer/songwriter, and has been touring in the Nordic and the Baltic countries.
In concert:
Playing live concerts Stanley plays the acoustic guitar and sings not only Faroese, but also in English, Danish and Swedish.
Stanley's music is touching many different styles including blue-grass and country.
On CD:
Stanley has released one very successful CD album in 1999. The lyrics are in the Faroese language, and the music is heavily inspired by British and US guitarists e.g. John Rembourn and Stephen Stils.
The lyrics are in four languages: Faroese, English, Swedish and Danish. The booklet has English explanations with every poem.
