Basco first met at the Carl Nielsen academy of music in Odense, Denmark. They played together for the first time at the 2003 Tonder festival, and decided to keep seeing each other... After a while they decided to get a bit serious about life, and become a band properly, but this was temporarily hampered by the fact that Hal went to Newcastle, England, to study composition for a year. Andreas is currently in the US studying at Berkely, but now they've Ditte Fromseier Mortensen - fiddle mistress - sitting in until he comes home. Basco plays chiefly new compositions. Most of these are by fiddler Hal Parfitt-Murray, but the others are also active composers. Of the four tracks on this site, the first three were composed by Hal, and "Kamerika" was composed by Sigurd Hockings and Danish fiddle-whizz, Henrik Jansberg.
